Hutch School offers open enrollment – children can be enrolled at any time during the school year. Length of time at Hutch School varies and can be several days to several months to the whole school year. All students in kindergarten through the twelfth grade are welcome. We know that the decision to relocate temporarily to Seattle can happen quite suddenly, and we welcome a call or visit from you to gather the necessary information for enrolling your child in school. A phone call at (206) 667-1400 or e-mail will get the process started. Otherwise, the student can enroll after arriving in the Seattle area.

If your student has an Individualized Education Plan (IEP) or has been receiving additional support services at their home school, we recommend that you either provide us a copy of your child's IEP advance of coming to Seattle or bring with you. 

Patients are enrolled in Hutch School for one-on-one tutoring, and are encouraged to start school upon arrival in Seattle. Even a short visit to see the school to meet the teachers will help students feel connected and enable the teacher to meet the individual’s needs. The social worker at the hospital or the clinic can also help connect families with Hutch School.

All we need is:

1.  A copy of the student's immunization records (a photocopy or a fax is sufficient.)
   
2. The name, mail and e-mail addresses and phone and fax numbers of the home school. We will contact the home school upon enrollment and send a report when the student returns home.
   
3. A copy of the student's IEP or other paperwork that describes their special needs or extra services they receive. 

We do not need academic transcripts.
